Since its inception the Department has been keenly aware of its role in imparting quality education at the postgraduate level
and in engaging quality research, teaching and training in pure mathematics and in other disciplines of learning in the areas of Natural
Sciences and Technology and of late even in Social Sciences as well.
To contribute to the growth of the country by creating a platform for interaction between the students, teachers and the
Industries - particularly the finance industry.
To develop and encourage a culture of strong research in faculty as well as in students.
Mission of the Department
To establish as a center for Advanced Studies in Mathematics for teaching and research.
To introduce and train students with knowledge in mathematics giving them the capability of applying their skills in various multidisciplinary areas.
To create need based courses as well as regularly conduct training programmes for the UG teachers to create necessary foundation for our future students.
